RESCUE BABIES FREE TO GOOD HOMES
I have some rescue babies ready for new homes now, aged from 5 weeks to 16 weeks.
Assorted colours, all born here and handled from young, so they are tame and friendly and healthy. No pedigrees with these, I only know what colour mum is.
Usually adopted for $10 each, these bubs are available for free to approved homes as now I am pregnant it is getting harder to keep up with them!
An 'approved' home will be a responsible owner who can supply adequate housing, food, clean water, appropriate bedding and out-of-cage playtime. They will be committed to caring for their ratties at the best standard they can manage and afford them medical (vet) care as needed. ------------------------ Shipping available to approved homes: cost between $60- $100 for the flight, depending on destination. Shipping in same-sex pairs only. I will not fly single rats. Flight crate is on average $12 and I supply them with shredded newspaper nesting material, a cubby box to hide in, pieces of apple to nibble and keep them hydrated and a small water container. --------------------------------------- Cage mates and introductions I do not sell single rats unless you have a friend waiting for them. Rats are social creatures and need friends of their own kind.
Females usually can be introduced at any age and will get along just fine.
Males should be introduced before 6 months old (sexual maturity) If the rat is older, it may be difficult. Sometimes an older male who has been well socialised will accept a younger male, with no problems. My own adult males have no problems meeting and accepting new rats. They live in a large colony of 10-12 at any one time. They accept new friends because they are well socialised.
